The Best Juicer for Celery (best masticating juicers)

Are you looking for the best juicer for celery? Or even just a juicer that will actually grind up your fruits and vegetables getting all the juice out? Tired of one that puts chunks of carrots directly into your glass? Look no further! After way too much trial and error I finally found the best juicer for juicing celery (if you can’t tell celery is my juicing go to – read what it did for my health here).

Given that I tend to use a juicer 3x per day, I’ve gone through more than I care to admit. Of all the juicers I’ve tried, the Omega NC800HDS Masticating Juicer is the one that solved my problems. Buy the exact one I use here.

Masticating juicer vs Centrifugal juicer

If you are new to the juicing world you are probably wondering what’s the difference between in a masticating juicer vs centrifugal juicer. First off, masticate is not a dirty word, it just means to chew. So a masticating juicer is one that slowly chews/presses the food through a screen. Masticating juicers are sometimes called slow or auger juicers. A centrifugal juicer forces food against a blade by spinning it really fast; they are sometimes called fast juicers.

So which is better, masticating or centrifugal? The short answer is that even though they are generally a little bit more expensive, a masticating juicer extracts more juice from your produce while delivering more nutrients.

Though cheaper, a centrifugal juicer gives off more heat which reduces the nutritional content of the produce being spun through it. Since a masticating juicer moves the food through slower, it helps squeeze out more juice while generating less heat.

Sidenote – there is a third type of juicer called a cold-pressed juicer where the food generally squeezed together on large plates. These juicers work great, but are extremely expensive and almost only used in commercial applications.

Best Masticating Juicers for Celery

Because I juice 3x per day I’ve unfortunately worn out more juicers than the average person buys in their life. I lucked out when I got the Omega NC800HDS Masticating Juicer two years ago as I really do think it is one of the best masticating juicers. Not only are the results superb, but the juicer has withstood near constant use (I’ve even packed it in a suitcase for vacations).

While the name of this juicer definitely doesn’t roll off the tongue, the juice really does. It’s easy to feed food through and the juice comes out smooth. Many juicers let chunks of food fall into the glass, but this juicer perfectly strains the chunks out.

One other benefit is that it is relatively easy to clean. Some juicers have 50 different parts that need to be taken apart and washed. Thankfully Omega juicers come with fewer parts, which makes clean-up and reassembly much quicker.

Another similar Omega model is the J8006HDS Masticating Juicer. I haven’t used this one, but it’s supposed to be about the same.

Conclusion: The Best Masticating Juicer for Celery

Yes, I do think that this Omega juicer is the best masticating juicer for celery, or really any other type of vegetable. Even though it is a little bit more expensive, the fact that it delivers more juice in a healthier manner, the cost is very easily justifiable.
