Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Review

By now I am sure that everyone has heard of Charlotte Tilbury. If you somehow haven’t, Charlotte Tilbury is a famous British makeup artist that started a brand of cosmetics and skincare named after her.

Over the last few years the brand has receive a lot of hype, and this is especially true when it comes to Charlotte’s Magic Cream (the brand only launched in 2013). Is it worth it, or is it overhyped garbage? After doing my own Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream review I hate to report that the hype is largely (but not completely) deserved. This cream really did help restore a healthy glow to my face.

Charlotte Tilbury Brand Reputation

Beauty bloggers and the YouTube community especially have been raving about the Charlotte Tilbury Brand. The basic reputation is that its super pricey, but delivers a quality product. I’m skeptical when it comes to expensive products; just because it works, doesn’t mean it is worth the extra cost.

The Actual Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Review

My first impression is that the pot and packaging are pretty standard. When you open it up the white cream appears thick. Even once I put it on my finger it felt thick, but as you lather it into your face it spreads out incredibly well. THANK GOODNESS it does; there is nothing worse than an expensive cream that you have to use your entire pot on moisturizing your face once.

I’ve got normal combination skin and I can feel the cream sitting on my face. Even though I can feel it, it doesn’t feel heavy and definitely not greasy. Somehow, it feels really soft on my face. Given that I live in the scorching desert of Las Vegas many skin creams don’t sit on my face for long. I legitimately need a face shield to protect me from the desert intensity. This cream somehow does it without feeling like a mask I would have to peel off.

I can still feel it moisturizing my face after a full day. It really is impressive to have a face cream that puts up with the sweat and heat of the Vegas day.

It also works really well as a base beneath my makeup.

Charlotte Tilbury EWG Rating

Charlotte Tilbury products have not yet been evaluated by the Environmental Working group (EWG) yet. To learn what an EWG rating is and why it matters read here.

Conclusion After Consistent Use

Obviously I measure quality by long term results in my face, and not after a few hours of wear. After consistent use I can’t say that it turned back the clock and smoothed out my wrinkles, but I can definitively say that it helped put a healthy glow back in my skin.

Drawbacks

The only drawbacks are that the product is expensive, and even when you do buy the biggest size it still isn’t all that big!
